Does your child like music, enjoy learning and having fun? If the answers are “yes” to these questions, they are ready to grow their love of music through studying piano with Diane. Specializing in nurturing beginning pianists in grades 1-8, Diane believes that every child has the ability to play piano.

Researchers agree that your child will enjoy various, life-long benefits from studying piano:

  • Score higher on both standard and spatial cognitive development tests, especially math.
  • Display increased hand-eye coordination and improved small motor skills.
  • Increase concentration/study skills.
  • Develop higher self-esteem.

After identifying the student’s preferred learning style and music interests, she adapts her teaching technique to promote faster learning and higher success. In addition to her traditional approach, Diane can incorporate computer and smart phone apps for practicing theory concepts and improving listening skills. Her curriculum includes options such as formal and informal recitals and musical field trips. Via her incentive program to earn “Bach Bucks,” students earn rewards as they achieve their musical goals. Make no mistake—dedicated, consistent practice is still necessary; but Diane encourages your child to keep practicing throughout the year with these programs.

Through many years of developing lovers of music in children, Diane’s vibrant approach to music education is hailed by many as the cornerstone of her students’ success and foundation for their life-long enjoyment of music. Some of her credentials in the past 20+ years are:

  • Bachelor of Music Education, University of Illinois (piano & voice)
  • Certified Teacher (grades K-12)
  • Music Director, Small Blessings Early Childhood Development Center
  • Soloist (piano & vocal), Director of Celebration Singing Choir and Celebration Chime Choir, Children’s Musical Productions Director and Chancel Choir Accompanist at Hyde Park United Methodist Church
  • Master Chorale of Tampa Bay Member (Concert Choir for the Florida Orchestra)

For beginning students, Diane offers a free evaluation, consultation and mini-lesson to help parents confirm their child’s preferred learning style and musical interest levels. Regardless of whether the family chooses to start lessons with Diane or not, the written musical evaluation, consultation and initial lesson are free of charge.

Diane’s studio is located in Tampa Palms and has a parent-friendly waiting area that has free wi-fi and a work table. Siblings are welcome to wait with a parent, too. Give her a call today for a free consultation!
