The Size and Price

In both upright and grand pianos, the size is the most important determining factor for price. The rule of thumb is "the bigger the piano, more expensive it is."

Why? A larger piano means more raw materials, longer strings, and a larger soundboard which translates to a bigger volume and better tone quality. It also means more time spent and labor expenses to build each piano.
